Do you think that it is ok for CHRISTIANS to wear JEWELRY in CHURCH ?

Zodiac *sagittarian* Man asked:

That is the question of the day. We all have
our opinions on this. And when I say jewelry
I mean diamonds, pearls, silver, and yes.
Gold. In some countries, jewelry is a sign of
strength and power. Or in some cases, just
a novelty. And to others, it is a sign of vanity
and pride. What do you think ? Should
Christians wear jewelry in church on Sundays ?

  2. por jesucristo Says:

  3. Java Queen, SLS Says:

In America, jewelry is pretty. That’s all…just pretty. Nothing wrong with that.

  4. SuzyQ Says:

I don’t think it’s important whether a person wears jewelry or not to church……….it has nothing to do with their salvation, that’s for sure………..

You can see me wearing my ‘diamond’ jewelry every time we have a church service………..just personal preference, I suppose………..

    God Bless……………..

  5. pelo Says:

    in moderation

  6. Lakely Says:

Gems are part of the history of the Catholic church. Bishops used to wear Amethyst rings… it was considered to be a sign of compassion.

I think this is a big concern. All of the hypocrsies that one sees in church a necklace on a woman tops them all. Right on and very very good point. Drink!!

  8. Bobby Jim Says:

Everything in moderation, as the scriptures say.
Nothing should be worn to church that might draw attention to one’s self.
The focus of church should be the worship of God, not the display of personal wealth, vanity, or power & position.

Paul said, “All things are lawful unto me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.”

i don,t think it is wrong if you where something small nouthing really big it is just like you want the all the people to see what you have

  10. B.Carroll Says:

God says come as you are…… interpreted into 2008…. if your a hooker wearing six inch heels… come on in we’ll take you.!!!

Church is about each persons individual relationship and love for God.. congregated with a group of like-minded individuals…. In other words I would go to church naked if I had no clothes…. and if I was draped in diamonds I would still make it there on time.

The diamond studs my husband gave me for our 20th anniversary, the first diamonds I’ve ever had, aren’t coming out of these ears. Sorry. They are emphatically not about strength and power, but enduring love. Somehow I don’t think God disapproves of that.

  12. Lifeline Says:

sure, if the person dresses modestly not way out there–showing skin, short (above the knee) and jewelry to match; I mean the jewelry should not call attention to the person–too much blink is not appropriate. Keep it simple and nice

  13. drenay Says:

There’s nothing wrong with wearing Jewlery to a religious activity. But its your choice so do what you want to do

  14. Mim Says:

I think it is OK to wear a little if that is your custom but not to put on a lot of be showy with it.

  15. Jim W Says:

Jewelry should not become the focal point. If it distracts others because it is ostentatious, then it is a stumbling block and should be avoided.

  16. William R Says:

“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided (braided) hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;” 1Tim 2:9. This is my opinion! The sunday is NOT the Lord’s day, Saturday is! Gen 2:1-3; Ex 20:8-11; Deu 5:12-15; Isa 58:13,14; Mark 2:27,28; Acts 13:14, 42, 44.

  17. MicahArt Says:

People should wear whatever they darn well please. It’s about communing with God, Who BTW is looking at my soul, not what I have on.

  18. Q Says:

You are not suppose to wear jewelry at all. the bible says do not ordain you self in those things. plus your body is the temple of God it should be treated that way. Also in the bible when it talks about women being ordain in jewelry they were classified as prostitutes.

  19. It's Summer Says:

i think that in moderation like small irings and a watch. and a ring but i thik that if you wear too stuff yeah is like you are too pride and i think that male shouldnt wear any percing to church or any jewelry excapt for watch and weeding ring.

  20. Chuck Says:

I thought Christians weren’t supposed to judge. (shrug) It’s just jewelry.
