It is rather abrasive on jewelry for the most part and, not to wise for fine and precious metals or gems. Also, if the toothbrush has hard brussels it will most likely loosen yours gems from their settings .I say ditto ,to Philip's answer.He indefinitely knows what he is talk- in about. but, Personally I prefer white jewellers rouge over mild soap.It makes metals and precious stones glisten to their fullest. Never with gems except very high clarity diamonds. So, mild soap and a toothbrush are the best. Don't use high acidity soaps or any bleaching product since that might attack your metal settings and ring. For daily cleaning I use a towel made from microfibers, like the one's for cleaning your glasses, to take the grease from the gems. (Diamonds love grease). Enjoy daily your jewelry :-) !
