Were ever you sell your ring it won't be worth much. You will get pennies on the dollar for it. You might get more from an individual but then it has to be cash or you take the chance of getting ripped off. It's sad to know that something worth so much at one time is now hardly worth anything at all. Your right pawn shops are a joke but the others are not much better. All you can do is either sell to individual or take it to several jewelry stores and see who gives you the best price.... Also remember alot of brides are going for white gold or platinum so if it is yellow gold it will not be as desirable. I was was engaged and called it off and she gave me the ring back and it is a real beautiful ring but I do know that I want to get married but In my heart I knew that I couldn't put this ring on someone else finger even if she didn't know so I did some home work and checked around you are so right pawn shop isn't the way to go. Then that could be worth it. What I did was made a deal with a Local Jewelry store and I sold to him and he didn't give me crap on it as in cash but I was able to buy another one much like the one I had and made another deal with it so It was okay for me still took a lost on it but in my heart it was the right thing too do. What is strange is that I have bought another ring and I am waiting for my dream lady to be with me HEHEHE, I know I am weird. I do not tell this story to anyone but you. What I would do is to go around and try it with some of the other stores and see what they would give you anything on it and if they have any info and it is a plus you have your papers and if it is a real good Diamond then they may just buy it they really do not care about the ring.
